Sanitation Lead

Two openings available on third shift: hours are 9pm to finish (around 6-7am)

Under the direction and guidance of the Sanitation Supervisor, the Sanitation Lead coordinates and executes all activities of the sanitation team to assure the application of GMP?s as well as monitors all initiatives related to food safety and hygiene.


  • Perform daily sanitation of all processing lines.

  • Promotes a safe work environment through knowledge of the sanitation program and commitment to a safe work place for all.

  • Coordinate and execute all daily sanitation activities within the area.

  • Monitor operations to maintain the highest rating possible.

  • Motivate and train sanitation personnel to achieve outstanding manufacturing and sanitation results. Effectively conduct team meetings.

  • Provide a satisfying and rewarding work environment for employees.

  • Responsible for filling out daily sanitation logs.

  • Coordinates the completion of all required sanitation or maintenance required by the master sanitation schedule.

  • Monitor timely and effective dismantling, cleaning, sanitizing, and setting up of equipment and other tasks. Ensure sanitation team adhere to all requirements to maintain a safe workplace including wearing the necessary personnel protective equipment (PPE).

  • Train employees to comply with SSOPs and to use chemicals correctly and safely.

  • Maintain open communication and working relationships with all departments, including Quality Control, Production and Maintenance.

  • Assist co-workers when necessary.

  • Communicate issues and important information to the appropriate person immediately.

  • Perform related duties as required.

High school diploma or equivalent.

A minimum of 3 years related work experience required.

Experience and knowledge in food sanitation operations, procedures, chemicals and program standards, preferably in a general food or manufacturing industry.

Leadership competencies that lead and inspire others ? drives for exceptional results. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to think critically.

Self-directed with the ability to work independently as well as with groups.

Ability to effectively plan, organize and prioritize work.

Read and understand chemical labels.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions and decimal. Knowledge of sanitation, safety, and allergen requirements in a manufacturing environment.

Handle chemicals in appropriate manner.

Ability to climb a ladder or work from a scissor lift.

Ability to work extended hours and weekends.

Teamwork skills.


The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of the job the employee is regularly required to stand for extended periods of time, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift, push, or move items up to 50 pounds and use arms and hands at or above shoulder height, climb and work atop a ladder or work from a scissor lift, and operate equipment. The employee will work in a manufacturing environment with machine noise. Manufacturing area temperature varies from 30?F- 40?F depending on the outside temperature. Employee will be working with numerous sanitizing chemicals.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
